Black Belt Club Remembers where we come from!

Hello AWESOME Families!

What an AWESOME Day!!!  Our Black Belt Club arrived today for our workout and hockey event to a slide-show of the past and the history of our School.  The point of the day...don't forget where you come from.  This can obviously be applied to any family in teaching values and character traits to their children, and ourselves as well.  Our School was founded on the principle of achieving goals through dedication and discipline.  Hard work, sweat, togetherness, victories and defeats are all things we have embraced together as a whole in order to grow as individuals.  Today a family interested in being involved in our program drives down the hill to our new AWESOME home, a far cry from what we come from.  The idea of never forgetting where you come from is essential in teaching our students, your children, how to always find their own foundation as men and women in the future.  Friday night the black belts training class was based on fundamentals of training, the part of training that drives us as "younger" students or newer students.  Often in training you reach a point where you must go back to that to remember where you come from, and there is a joy and new fire that comes from that line of thinking.  Much like a father who is wrapped up in the obstacles of day to day life picks up his son or daughter and takes a walk with them, we too must take a "walk" with what matters regularly in order to gain a happiness and "stride" that allows us to grow for family and selves alike.  I often speak with families newer to the School who have just received their opportunity to be a part of our Black Belt Club, and the thoughts they have now are the same many of the families there today had when they went through that time.   The R.T. Berry School, Family, and Community is growing strong people...there is no doubt about that.  This is because of the support of the families and their "sight" in seeing what they do and what they commit to as a family becomes a passion of their children...what better passion than to be as good and strong as you can be , and continue to grow strong!

I would like to thank and congratulate Miss Andrea and Mr. Benny for their part of the class today.  It was unbelievable to hear and watch them as they trained and talked to everyone about what being an AWESOME Master Berry's Tae Kwon Do kid has done for them.  It is even more incredible to me personally to see them at their age stand in front of over 100 people and be able to communicate a message that they want to share with those who are coming after them...where we all came from.

The growth of the students is not limited to the kids.  To see the growth of my adult students over the years is truly a humbling view.  Thank you to all of you for yielding yourselves to the instruction of our School, I hope you see your own growth as I have.

Our School was founded on the idea of "train".  Train Tae Kwon Do.  Train to never give up.  Train to be polite.  Train to make your partner stronger.  Train to get strong.  Train to be a good friend.  Train to be a good woman. Train to be a good man.  Train to do things today that other's won't so that you can train tomorrow to do things that others can not.  This is where we come from, and this is where we go.

I look forward to the journey!

Master Berry
